About
Seoul Sidekick is an independent guide to traveling and living in Korea, written for visitors, students and newcomers who don't read Korean.
Much of the most useful, current information about Korea lives on Korean-language sites: transit notices, festival schedules, opening hours, prices, local news and the things people in Korea are talking about right now. We read those sources, check the facts, and explain them plainly in English, with the context a first-time visitor needs.
What we publish
- Practical guides — getting around, money, phones and SIM cards, neighborhoods, day trips, seasons and festivals.
- Food & drink — what to order, how ordering works, convenience-store and market food, and etiquette.
- Culture & K-content — the background behind dramas, music and everyday customs.
- Living in Korea — paperwork, housing, healthcare basics and daily life for newcomers.
- Trending in Korea — short explainers on what is making headlines in Korea, and why it matters.
How we work
We write every article ourselves. We never copy or republish other outlets' articles or photos. Facts such as prices, hours and rules are checked against official or primary sources, which we link at the end of each article, and we date our updates because things in Korea change quickly.
